I thought that the repeated line/wave pattern would be an interesting way to suggest light but also like a futuristic checkered flag sort of feel.

Legacy
No.102 → My Famicase Exhibition 2023

1,000 years have passed since the last appearance of the Tatras range, and it has taken humanity that long to recover from the damage of the otherworldly being. A new age has begun, but new dangers lie ahead for a civilization on the brink of discovery.



Legacy acts as a continuation of the TATRAS games that I had made in previous years. Taking a huge step forward to establish a new setting, new characters, etc.

This is my entry this year, no.75: Metro Maker


The perfect city must have a perfect metro system. Connect riders with their destinations as efficiently as possible in this single-player puzzle game.

The title typography integrated right into the actualy art in both of these is amazing.

@phearhead, could you post a close-up version of the design in the top-right? The image and the timer look super cool but are really hard to see!

LOVE how the colours of your art integrate so seamlessly with the cart. What's the pattern in the background on the right side?

Also love the 5 little logos beneath the game title. Are these racing teams or sponsors?

Thank you! I got so lucky with the colors! I thought it was a risk going for green, if it was more off it could have looked kinda iffy.

It’s like a helmeted racing gal. This was the first time I had figured out how to make the effect. My brain figured it out just as I was about to sleep (which in turn meant I stayed up longer ha)

Here are those detail shots! You can see the small figure being towered over in the fog much more, as well as the type and timer details more. Those were definitely more for me, than anything! haha

I need to stop shying away from really small text. Every year I consider it and then I worry about how it will print. Every year I see people pulling it off well haha

Hell yeah! I wonder if it will be showing again in Hong Kong too this year.

So cool to see the exhibition making its way across the world.

Maybe I need to find a little gallery in Brisbane that would want to host it
