Now Playing - Music

What do you have on repeat lately? Album? Playlist? Single? Let's hear it.

My music taste is all over the place, I just found this playlist that has been great. It's like disco/techno/chill, just a great mix.

Most recently was going through a little early work from Ryuichi Sakamoto and Yellow Magic Orchestra, on account of his recent passing. -_-

So many posting remembrances or favorite selections, it's been amazing to go through so many I was unaware of. But also, come to find out this was also by him?! Wow.

Where would be a good place to start for Ryuichi Sakamoto‘a work? I’ve never given it a serious listen.

(fyi if you post a Spotify or Youtube (and others) link without the URL bbcode, it should embed. I need to make an announcement post about these tips & tricks)

This song and band came up in a playlist I found for a music festival that played in my city recently, and I just can't stop listening to it.

Ayyy Fishmans! Depending on mood, would jump between them and Ogre You Asshole at one point

I'm exploring a lot of it myself, there's so much out there. I'm always inclined to start towards the beginning, so maybe late 70's Yellow Magic Orchestra and then getting into his early solo albums.

Reading this interview from him in 2021, he has some thoughts about that early work and how it contrasts with what he's done much later, pretty interesting read: https://thecreativeindependent.com/peop ... get-older/

My wife is a huge k-pop fan, and her favorite member of BTS, SUGA, released a solo album last week called D-DAY. It's actually pretty amazing, with him even collabing with Ryuichi Sakamoto. Definitely worth a listen, and here's a few of the singles.

Trigger warning on this video, it deals with some serious themes.

I've been getting more into radiohead lately. I need to listen to In Rainbows and The Bends more, they're really fun albums

Spent all morning smashing out work listening to this Les Yeux Orange label playlist on shuffle.

Some great house tunes for when you need to concentrate:

Lately I find myself having PinkPantheress's album, To Hell with It, on repeat while I work.

Also really dig this track she did with Ice Spice.

This is perfect for what I wanted to listen to this morning! 🌞

To all posting what they're vibing with at the moment in this thread:

It would be super helpful to mention a rough genre for each artist or song in your post!
Even if it's just like Electronic or Pop or Metal.
