Amazing. We recently embarked on a revisit (by way of twitch stream longplay) of their "classic" 3D-platformer Portal Runner.

It shoehorns in a wildly random fantasy plot with 3DO's Army Men franchise (the player character, Vikki, was Sarge's girlfriend), only has like three voice-actors and Jim Cummings of Tigger fame is nearly all of them, and the streamers we're watching make an already confounding control scheme even more confounding by not using the strafe buttons, effectively doing the whole 3D-platform thing with tank controls.

Come to find out, this game had its US release on September 11, 2001! Which miiiiight explain the heightened emotion behind this wild complaint letter from 3DO's then-president Trip Hawkins to GamePro's editor regarding a 2.0/5.0 review of the game:

lol, I played a lot of Army Men: Sarge's Heroes and Army Men: Air Attack back in the day.

God the first Army Men game was so difficult for me.

-> Staccato controls/accuracy, the all-over drab military colors, a single snare-drum accompaniment, and occasional camera jitteriness that made me queasy

oh man, i can only imagine. the only army men games i played were Sarge's Heroes 1 & 2 on N64 and they were, uhh, somethin'.

Looking around some of the games on the 3DO console, N.O.B. looks wild!

I didn't ever have a chance to play the system, or knew anyone who had one at the time. Looking over eBay listings, I doubt I'll ever jump into it if prices keep goin' up.

Prices have always been high on 3DO stuff. They play burned CD-Rs, but unfortunately most of the optical drives are pretty much toast at this point. I finally bought an ODE from Fixel and it's been fantastic.

I have acquired the item! Ha, the owner said it'd sat on that shelf for literal years, but in keeping with his general approach to albums and other items, "I knew if I kept it long enough someone would eventually want it."
