I recall in the last couple of years it's taken close to a week to fill up, though I'm not sure if that's just Satoshi-san working through the backlog.

That said, yeah it's definitely advised to submit within the first couple of days of submissions being open!

So maybe there is a bigger science to the things that you can explain to me but for the previous four entries I had no idea and only given out one Famicom-ID (FC-ID) (it was RIAHV).
I found this handy list https://famicomworld.com/game-list/ but I am unsure if I should just make up some code that looks nice or has a hidden meaning for me or ... Could you enlighten me?

For my first entry, I used my initials and the year (MCW-22). I think just making something up is the standard practice!

I'm about to do a crazy late-night last-minute design because I'm on year 5 and I can't break the streak!

I'm torn between either doing a tabletop wargame theme or a surreal psychological horror theme. I'll see what speaks to me the most once I start sketching!

I've always used HVC-WH which is just the Nintendo publisher code (I think) plus my initials. I think people generally just make up some code for themselves or for the specific game.

But now that I'm thinking about the formatting of the codes being PUBLISHER-GAME then I suppose mine should have been variations of WJH-XX the whole time instead of HVC-WH 🤔

Oh well, doesn't matter anyway!
