Maybe it's a super rare game? Or a cheap tchotchke with sentimental value? Or a piece of bootleg merch? Or a tattoo?
What is it?? Tell me. I wanna know.
What's your most treasured video game-related possession?

This one's been making me think for a bit; and not least because it reminded me I *do* in fact have tattoos. (So they must really mean something to me right?? I'm always fluctuating between "Yes, formative or meaningful things " versus "hyuck hyuck it's on my body forever, wHaT NeXt")
One is of the "Sleep" power image from Kirby Super Star (The little guy always did demonstrate the level of rest I long for). And the other is a Junimo from stardew valley holding up a chicken. (Real "Give Me A Single Task And Let Me See My Progress One Step At A Time And Tell Me I'm Doin' A Good Job" hours up in here.)
And while I do have a few higher monetary value items on the shelves, I don't really treasure those things. I probably have a more meaningful connection to the simple, loose carts of a couple Kirby games and, say, Super Mario RPG. Oh! and there is also the "Ages of Myst" box set which I did spend a lot of time with back in the 90's. Also the Donkey Kong Country Trilogy soundtrack CD, those tunes are seared on the psyche for good

I've got a few pretty limited-run game soundtracks on vinyl that I think are my favorite game merch items.
The highlights include Hunt:Showdown, Silent Hill 2, and NeoTokyo

Oh man. I'm not actually sure! Probably some of the old Halo stuff gifted to me by friends who were Bungie old guard back in the day. I know my most "valuable" single game is Vampire Killer on the Mega Drive, but that's like, secondhand market value, not sentimental value. This is an interesting one, something I'm going to have to consider for a while. I feel like the answer should be like, some kind of Object. Recently my buddy Jay made me a custom fight stick for STGs that felt incredibly meaningful. I use it near daily and treasure it quite a bit. So that's certainly the biggest one in recent memory. ^_^

Ooooh. Interesting. I've got a couple but it's a bit difficult to choose:
- My childhood Nintendo 64. Well, this is actually shared between my brother and I, but it's currently in my possession and still works great. We got it in 1998 along with Banjo-Kazooie and 1080 Snowboarding, games which I also still have and love dearly. (side note: I am listening to the excellent 1080 Snowboarding OST right now!). I think if the house was on fire or whatever and I had to grab one video game thing then this would probably be it.
- My Famicom and games. Not as much of a nostalgia thing here, but I bought the console and 10ish games when I first visited Japan in 2016 and I think it really kicked off a lot of fun game hobbies culminating in this forum!
- Control stuff. Including the physical game with it's cool-ass Deluxe Edition Steelbook, and the Art and Making of Control artbook. Control rules imo.
- The Death Stranding Baby Jar Collector's Edition. Sadly my BB is tucked away in the carry case because my wife doesn't want this thing on display lol. I don't blame her. Death Stranding rules imo.

I have a couple of video game tattoos, as well! I have Bat Wario from Wario Land 3 and the Seal of Metatron from Silent Hill on my leg. (I also plan to get the green herb from Resident Evil as my next tattoo. And maybe others, eventually.)
My most treasured possession (that will likely continue to live in a box in a closet for the foreseeable future) is probably the PS2 I had as a teenager. I almost sold it last year, but ended up keeping it. I doubt I'll ever hook it up again, but it does feel like a memory-filled object that I'm happy to continue possessing. I've got a few other consoles in similar boxes, but the PS2 is probably the most important to me. Also a big fan of the stack of video game books I have, which I've mentioned elsewhere. The Game Boy color I keep on my desk. Etc, etc.
And then there's this IRL mockup of my first Famicase, which has been on my desk since 2022. It's a simple little tchotchke, but I was (and remain) super stoked about Famicase as a concept and love having this little visual reminder.
