Mountain Dew Rebrand

Mountain Dew is returning to their hillbilly roots and abandoning gamers to celebrate "the great outdoors" with a rebrand.

Kinda kidding but also, this feels like a weird move that doesn't jive with names like LiveWire and Code Red. When you hear "Mountain Dew" you do not think of mountains or dew or the outdoors and that's kind of an amazing accomplishment. I do not understand taking steps to undo that work.

What do you think?? (Not trying to turn this into Brand New or anything, lol, this just seemed like enough of an overlap since this is the official drink of video games and all.)

Hmmmmmmmmmm I think I like it!

Logo-wise, I think it looks much nicer and more legible than the super spiky Jet Set Radio-esque MTN DEW. I think these colours are a bit friendlier too.

However, I do think that the old MTN DEW positioning as the bright neon, super sugared, edgy energy drink for Gamers was fun and made it stand out from other drinks.

The only time I drink Mountain Dew anyway is when I have KFC to make sure that I really punish my body (though I think this has only been once or twice this year?), and I don't think this is gonna change that.

Also fwiw I think the recentish Pepsi redesign was very cool!

I could not be less interested in the visual identity of a soda but this is a substantial improvement over the mtn dew thing they had before, and better than the one i remember from the 90s and 00s as a kid. Granted, I'm also saying that cause Froyo Tam was involved and she does not miss.

I regret making this post, lol. For what it's worth, my main beef is with the trees and the nature photography. God bless Froyo.

This is the most time I've spent considering that horrid beverage in decades.

I try not to drink soda *too* often but Code Red is probably still in my top five, lol.
